Welcome

Welcome to FACEforward, the ABFPRS Longitudinal Assessment program. This program has been designed to fulfill two purposes:

  1. The program will give time-limited ABFPRS diplomates another option for fulfilling the Part III examination component for completion of MOC in FPRS® requirements.
  2. The program will also allow time-limited and lifetime diplomates to complete ongoing educational requirements to achieve CME credits.

FACEforward will offer a series of five longitudinal assessment protocols, each containing ten or more questions, that can be completed over a 7 month period, beginning March 31 and ending October 31. Time-limited and lifetime diplomates who choose to participate in FACEforward will complete longitudinal assessment protocols on a yearly basis, which will allow for a more continuous assessment of knowledge. These protocols are based on high-quality, practice-relevant content developed by the ABFPRS to offer a mix of core, article-based, and subspecialty questions.

This format will allow diplomates to choose from three different modules that fit the definition of their practice: COSMETIC, RECONSTRUCTIVE, or COMBINED. ABFPRS diplomates who are current in their dues/fees will be able to log in to their individual portals to access references, protocols, score summaries, and other pertinent information. Having the 5 protocols open for a 7 month period will also allow diplomates to complete these assignments in the privacy of their home or office when it is convenient for their schedules.

To participate in FACEforward, diplomates must submit an ABFPRS MOC in FPRS® application containing operative experience and other requirements every ten years. The deadline for time-limited diplomates to submit their MOC in FPRS® application is January 15 of the year in which their certification expires.  For additional information regarding MOC in FPRS® applications and deadlines go to: www.abfprs.org/applying/maintain.cfm or call the ABFPRS office (703) 549-3223. Failure to maintain current dues status will preclude participation in FACEforward.

The AAFPRS will award 15 CME credits every year to all ABFPRS diplomates who are current AAFPRS members who successfully complete the FACEforward program on a twelve-month basis. All CME credits must be claimed within 3 years.
